We build on Go, Rust, or C++ depending on the latency budget, using an in-memory order book backed by Kafka event sourcing so every state change is durably logged and replayable, which matters enormously both for disaster recovery and for regulatory dispute resolution when a customer questions how their order was filled.
Custody is the second pillar, and the design question is always the same: how much value can be lost if any single credential, device, or person is compromised.
